Nether & End Rods
Two rod tiers continue the line past the Master Angler’s Rod, one after the other: Master Angler’s Rod → Nether Rod → End Rod. Each step is gated behind that dimension’s Legendary fish plus a Sacrifice Altar reward. Higher tiers add rarity rolls and charm capacity; lava and End access still require the matching charm effect.
| Rod | Rarity rolls added | Charm slots |
|---|---|---|
| Master Angler’s Rod | +2 | 3 |
| Nether Rod | +3 | 4 |
| End Rod | +4 | 4 |
“Rarity rolls added” is the rod’s bonus to every bite’s rarity roll — see how fish odds work. The End Rod’s +4 is the highest in the mod, and it keeps everything the Nether Rod could do. The fourth charm slot on either rod is only reachable at the Advanced Charm Station.
1. Craft the Rod Core
Section titled “1. Craft the Rod Core”Each rod needs a Rod Core crafted from 3 of its dimension’s Legendary fish at a crafting table. Put one fish in each slot; the arrangement doesn’t matter.

Infernal Ray is the Nether region’s Legendary fish and Dragontail is the End’s. Catching either requires the Magma Fishing or End Fishing Legendary charm effect, respectively. Keep that effect equipped after upgrading; the higher rod does not replace it.
2. Get an Advanced Charm Core
Section titled “2. Get an Advanced Charm Core”Each upgrade also consumes one Advanced Charm Core — so two across the full Nether → End path. It isn’t crafted from materials: it’s the Sacrifice Altar’s bonus reward for a generous Epic tribute (30 kg or more), or any successful Legendary tribute, at a 7.5% chance on top of the normal blessing.
The same Core also builds the Advanced Charm Station, which you need to reach the rod’s fourth charm slot — so plan for a third.
3. Upgrade at the Rod Station
Section titled “3. Upgrade at the Rod Station”Open the Rod Station, then add the rod you’re upgrading, the matching Rod Core, and one Advanced Charm Core. Unlike the earlier tiers, no vanilla ingot is needed here.
1 Master Angler's Rod +
1 Nether Rod Core +
1 Advanced Charm Core →
1 Nether Rod
1 Nether Rod +
1 End Rod Core +

1 End Rod
The End Rod upgrades from the Nether Rod, not straight from Master Angler’s — you pass through the Nether tier on the way. Take the finished rod, then socket its fourth charm slot at the Advanced Charm Station.
What each rod gives you
Section titled “What each rod gives you”Nether Rod
Section titled “Nether Rod”- +3 rarity rolls on every bite.
- Equip Magma Fishing to fish in lava.
- 4 charm slots.
End Rod
Section titled “End Rod”- +4 rarity rolls on every bite, the highest of any rod.
- Equip End Fishing for End spots, or Magma Fishing for lava.
- 4 charm slots.
Rod access vs. the charm effects
The Magma Fishing and End Fishing Legendary charm effects grant lava / End-spot access to mod rods at every tier. Nether and End rods still need those effects. The Nether and Voidtouched lures improve rarity odds in their dimensions; they do not unlock those fishing locations by themselves.
Finding End fishing spots
Section titled “Finding End fishing spots”Explore End island edges and look out over the void beside the island. Fishing spots generate about five blocks out from a suitable edge, around the island’s middle height rather than on its top surface. Not every island edge has one; explore terrain generated with the mod installed.
Cast toward an active spot using a mod rod with the End Fishing charm effect. The bobber must be within eight blocks on each horizontal axis and one block vertically of the spot, so casting at the right height matters. Build a safe approach before casting out.
A spot supports 25 successful catches, shared by everyone fishing there, before it closes. It has a five-minute cooldown, followed by about one second of opening animation, then refills to 25 catches and becomes usable again while ticking. Failed catches do not use up the spot. Wait for it to reopen before trying again. See the fish reference for the five End species.
