Fishing Bags
A Tackle Bag is portable storage built for fishing: gear on one page, fish on the other. When 18 slots per page stop being enough, upgrade to a Reinforced Tackle Bag (36 per page), then an End Fish Tank (54 per page).
Tackle Bag
Section titled “Tackle Bag”Hold the bag in either hand and right-click to open it. Use the page buttons to switch between:
- Gear page — lures, lines, modded rods, charms, Junk, and Bad Line.
- Fish page — your catch. Uniquely-weighted fish don’t stack, so keeping them off the gear page stops a good haul from burying your lures and lines.
Each page holds 18 slots. The Fish page accepts fish from this mod; vanilla Cod, Salmon, Tropical Fish, and Pufferfish cannot be stored there.
Recipe
Section titled “Recipe”Combine 1 Chest, 4 Leather, and 2 String at a crafting table. The arrangement doesn’t matter.

Collect catches automatically
Section titled “Collect catches automatically”Open the bag and enable the Auto-collect rarity toggles for the fish you want it to collect. All five start disabled. Carry the bag in your inventory while fishing, and new mod-fish catches of the selected rarities go straight into its Fish page.
If a catch doesn’t fit, the game tries the next bag with that rarity enabled. Any remainder goes into your normal inventory, or drops at your feet if that is full. This collects new fishing catches; it doesn’t sort fish already in your inventory.
Using multiple bags or selling from a bag
Bags are tried in this order: main hand, offhand, then inventory order. Full bags are skipped; partially filled bags take what fits before the rest moves on. All three bag tiers work together.
The separate Sell / gamble row selects rarities for the Fish Market bag slot. You can collect all five rarities while allowing only Common and Uncommon to be sold. Both rows start disabled on new bags. Older bags retain their collection choices, but selling starts disabled. Protected fish, disabled sale rarities, and the Gear page stay untouched. Placing a bag in the market slot alone doesn’t sell anything.
Protect trophy fish
Section titled “Protect trophy fish”Press Lock catches to enter lock mode on the Fish page. Click a fish to lock or unlock it; a gold * and a tooltip mark protected catches. Turn lock mode off to move fish normally. The lock stays with a fish when you move it, save/reload, or upgrade its bag.
Protected catches are excluded from selling and Cointoss, including when placed directly in the selling grid. The Fish Processor also refuses to process them. Unlock a fish in a bag before using it.
Bag enchantments
Section titled “Bag enchantments”All three bag tiers accept Spare Thread and Spare Spool.
Spare Thread
Section titled “Spare Thread”The bag accepts the Spare Thread enchantment. While you hold an enchanted bag, XP you pick up repairs any Mending lure stored inside it before your other Mending equipment, as far as the available XP allows — a way to keep a rotation of condition-specific lures topped up without swapping each one onto your rod.
Spare Spool
Section titled “Spare Spool”Spare Spool automatically supplies a replacement line from a held bag to your equipped rod when its line runs out. The bag must be in either hand; carrying it elsewhere in your inventory does not activate the enchantment.
Reinforced Tackle Bag
Section titled “Reinforced Tackle Bag”The middle tier has 36 Gear slots and 36 Fish slots. Combine 1 Tackle Bag, 2 Leather, 2 Iron Ingots, and 2 Rare Fish Catalysts in any arrangement.

All tiers support Spare Thread, Spare Spool, collection/selling filters, protected catches, and overflow.
End Fish Tank
Section titled “End Fish Tank”Upgrade a Reinforced Tackle Bag to get 54 slots on each page.
Both upgrade recipes preserve contents on their matching pages, the bag’s enchantments and custom name, both filter settings, and protected catches. Stored gear keeps its enchantments too.
Recipe
Section titled “Recipe”Combine your Reinforced Tackle Bag with 4 End Fish Scale and 4 Ender Pearl.

Getting End Fish Scale
Section titled “Getting End Fish Scale”End Fish Scale only drops while you fish with both of these active at once:
- What’s That Lure equipped, and
- the End Fishing charm effect.
With that setup, each successful catch has a 10% chance to also yield an End Fish Scale. You can fish in the Overworld for these — the End Fishing effect must be equipped, but you do not need to be in the End. Collect 4 scales for one tank.
